Default Is it fair play? Engaged missile units firing missiles.

I don't have any personal intention with this thread, just the will to submit what I see as "might be" fair play violation. When an enemy missile unit is engaged in the flank , say archers or skirmishers, is it valid that that unit keeps throwing his missiles? I share some images from a recent battle, in which my opponent's archers and skirmishers pretty destroyed my army while shooting engaged.

No, that's forbidden, as it creates a bug on rtw engine

It is forbidden. People, do not use guard mode on missile units! Yes, its a hassle to make sure they don't wander off after selected targets. No that is no excuse for continued firing in melee. I've tried to stop using it myself because I have also been guilty of this several times. The only times I use it is with units that are clearly in no danger of being engaged

By watching the replay, the inf gets shot with the first two volleys or so and when engaged the switch to melee...
On the Kretikoi side, the Gaesatae intercept your infantry and the latter never really reached the archers...

In overall no unit was in guard mode, how long it took them to switch to melee is due to the engine, I was microing the cav during that time...

No, it's NOT against the rules as they are not really engaged. It's only like the first second of engagement or beeing very close. That does NOT count as melee firing and does also happen if you do not have units in guard mode. You have to really engage the unit (attack and without guard mode). To be really sure I have to watch the replay though.

Pinned Cataphracts running through a wall of hostile men to charge the men behind them is not fairplay either.

Pinned cavalry from all sides should not be allowed to run through hostile men they should stay and fight to the death. Their not ghosts to go running through anything that comes in their way.

When did you start making such bold decisions?

@OP: Firing in melee is a violation. The new website may not have it listed; I'll make sure to fix that. This specific fair play rule has been in effect for as long as I can remember.

You had two good changes: the peltastai and the Akontistai facing the Xosenthozes. Your Gaesatae were defending the first and not the Kretikoi. Kretikoi shoot at least 6 volleys while engaged. Indeed, Xerunoudozez engaged them around 305110 and latter Woithiz, around 318016. This were on guard mode (random bug) but they were ordered to engage your unit, and they were fighting it. The Worgozes were engaging a unit of Akontistai which throwed six volleys engaged (around 30216). It's not neccesary to say that my Worgozes were destroyed. Another unit of Akontistai, engaged by Jugundiz throwed all his javelins while engaged. This can be not a problem, because your unit was giving them the back, so your Akontistai were shooting to other side.
So, I'm not complaining, just stating a problem we all can have. I don't doubt you couldn't change all missile units to attack; but that was a great handicap for the Sweboz. Greetings.
