Voice Chat in team matches

Hello, seeing as team battles have been turned into just seprate 1v1's with little to no coordination or strategy between the various players, I was thinking of ways to make team battles more Teamy.

And an idea popped up, Why not Voice chat. It would give us faster communication, and people would know exactly how their teammates are doing.

Sure you could write HELP in the chat, but that doesnt come close to having the persons thoughts streamed directly to your ear.


What do u guys think about this idea, ofcourse not everyone has to get it.

Also, what programs would you recommend.

That's not a problem for everyone, storm. Nothing has turned into something. At best we have more newbies, who of course need some time to get accustomed to things. You are - of course - allowed to use what you want, I honestly do not know what to think about it.

a) It would allow for some training of speaking and listening to english (instead of just witing and reading) (PRO)

b) my spoken english is really not good, it would be quite cumbersome for me to have to speak (CONTRA)

c) most of the time I have time to play, I cannot make a lot of noise, so speakig is out of the possibilities (strong CONTRA)

d) It's quite possible to manage teamplay just with writing.

After all... I'm not really in favour for it.

Or we can just have anyone who wants voicechat download xfire .. That said, point c applies to me too .

What Kival said, there are people (like me) perfectly able to coordinate with few words in the chat...
If you can't do that and prefer to have 3-4 persons talking and shouting in your ear, do it, I personally don't need it and most of the time have music anyway and won't hear a thing ^^

i agree with kival and arjos, constant chatter wouldnt be more than a distraction, a few things in the chat bar are fine, also if you feel its really turning into 1v1s then you should make an effort to integrate your armies, eg in some of gg2s replays with tcv one takes the majority of heavy cav and light inf and vice versa, this would ensure more teamplay if thats what you thirst for
