    When I first signed up on these forums, I only intended to make 1 post so I chose the name mercian billman, because the english billmen (MTW) were my favorite unit and they gained a valour bonus when produce in Mercia. It was funny because people assumed that I was british, I intended to change it after awhile but never really got around to it.

    I'm a little fuzzy, but I remember watching this really cool movie onetime, and when I discovered the Sicilians were an actual faction in the game...

    I preferred to make one anew but a quick search showed me this fine thread.

    When I invent my username it usually has some expressive or descriptive meaning behind it and possibly other factors I try imagining thereafter. It is as follows:

    MAIN REASONS:
    (1) when pronouncing my initials as a word it would roughly sound like "Bijo" (in Dutch and English);
    (2) a good friend told me I am like a strange or peculiar jewel or diamond or something of the kind of which there are only few; thus
    (3) in French the word Bijou means gem or jewel (and I like the language);

    ADDITIONAL REASONS:
    (4) it allows shortness and effectiveness;
    (5) letter-wise (including its character count) it appears balanced;
    (6) when typing it on a typical QWERTY keyboard it gives (me) the sensation of both balance and imbalance and the keys are close to each other;
    (7) another friend usually greets me with "Yo!" which sounds like the second syllable;
    (8) "Bi" sounds like "Be" from "to be";

    Therefore: Bijo.
    Emotion, passions, and desires are, thus peace is not.
    Emotion: you have it or it has you.

    Well, there is a book called "Real Commentaries about the Incans", which was wrote by Garcilaso de la Vega, el Inca.And I am in the Inca: Total War mod, so that give me the idea.

    Post Re: What is the origin/meaning of your nickname?

    For me, it's a very short and boring story. When joining I was completly confused as to what name I could pick, so I decided to go hunting through the Europa Barbaroum database for a suitable title. In the end I found Omanes, which I thought sounded rather exotic. Next, I chose Alexandrapolites, which I selected because it fitted along with Omanes quite well! So I signed up as Omanes Alexandrapolites which is still my existing name to this day.

    Dad's middle name and now mine. I use my other middle name for other sites, but I figured I'd try my other one here to see how it fits, and it's working well.

    Oh, yes, I almost forgot, it just shows how hopeless my memory is! I signed up as Omanes Alexandrapolites the Idiot, it did, and still does, represent my most terrible character and tendency to be stupid and do ridicolous things. However, I changed it about a month ago, the week prior to my promotion, upon the request/suggestion of a fellow .Org member.

    Masamune was a Japanese swordsmith, not to be confused with Tohoku Daimyo Date Masamune.

    I was born in the same province that Masamune (the swordsmith) was said to have lived.

    Cool.

    The origin of my name is obvious to anyone that's a Star Trek fan. On the show Deep Space Nine, Martok was a general in the Klingon military, and later on its Chancellor. He was one of my two favorite characters on the show, so I decided to steal his name for myself.

    I joined when MTW was the latest title. So I chose a medieval name. It is simply a real French king from the right period with a name I find somewhat amusing.

    Wiki on Louis VI the Fat, 1081-1137.

    Some may also remember that I was called Louis IV for a while - I had my kings mixed up. It should've been Louis VI like it is now.
    During a mafia game, set in the town of Fatlington, I briefly changed my name to Luigi VI di Fatlington.

    Wow - 3 year old thread. We've lost some good members.

    PanzerJäger has been my online gaming tag for years, starting with MOHAA. It is derived from my family involvement in the German military and my interest in it. I also think its somewhat unique.

    Not exactly sure why I chose this name... it does have a rather Fruity Ring to it doesn't it? I had some swords I picked up in Okinawa, and at that time I was rather enthralled by Japanese History. But I'm not sure I want to change it. I've stuck with it since '04, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to go with something different.
