    Default Most painful sporting injuries

We have had a fair few sports threads recently and i thought certain pics or film should be looked at. I have a fair few, mainly football injuries to show:

Hendrix Larson shatters his ankle for Celtic (Film pretty painful to say the least)

    http://www.tangerinetv.com/BrokenLeg.html

    Gym chaos:

Kick boxer has a leg problem (the worst i think of the bunch)

    http://www.tangerinetv.com/Boxer-Leg.html

    Funny but still painful

Some fellas disagree on who is the best footie team with just insane results

Well to me the worst though I dont knoe if it counts as an injury was seeing Dale Ernhardt die a few years back. I remember sitting there weeping like a baby. Next to that though I remember Lawrence Taylor snapping Joe Theismans leg like a toothpick on monday night football ending the carreer of one the best QBs ever.

Dave Busst ankle and leg busted big time. This injury at old trafford put him out of football for good and is truely horrendous

    Cisse breaks leg at Blackburn:

Roy "The Lunatic" Keane puts the boot right in on Inge Halland who hardly played since this tackle which is much worst when watched on television

A couple of years ago I was at a football game and on a kickoff the player was returning it he lowerd his head ( something you are tuaght never to do) and when the guy hit helmet to helmet the kick returner died instantly they cancelled the rest of the game scariset thing ive ever seen at a game

Schumacher 'colliding' with Battiston, World Cup 1982.

Choose 'watch video clips', then select 'Schumacher collides with Battiston'.

Germany keeper Harald Schumacher came charging off his line and made no attempt to play the ball, crashing into Battiston who was carried off and required oxygen in the dressing room before heading to hospital. His jaw was broken and he lost two teeth.

I remember that game very well, watched it in a hall full of university students. Tigana/Platini, what a team. Mind you, if you play the video of the entire match, you can hear the German commentator's opening sentence: 'The German team will have to go all out in order to control the technically brilliant French midfield...'

    Schumacher certainly went all out...

I have seen some videos of stupid kids trying tricks with their skateboards. Some of them are really nasty like when a guy snapped his arm bones cleanly in half and then pushed it in.

Theres also one of a wrestler who juumps from the top rope and snaps his ankle.

for me the most painful was when i had my knee bent 45 degrees the wrong way while playing american football, nothing compares to that pain as of yet in my life.

the worst ive ever seen was a mountain climber who fell from 1000 ft, and i was on the recovery team sent in to retrieve him, i swear we could have folded him into a suitcase... on of my worst images ive ever seen.

Man, that kickboxing one was disturbing. It's like he did'nt notice the break until he tried to put his foot back.

My dad has a friend who was playing soccer when a kicked ball hit his shin-causing a compound fracture and bones sticking out.

Todd Bertuzzi attacking the Colorado player from behind.

I myself was playing hockey once, ran into a post at full speed, was completly immobilized on the ince (must have jammed a nerve), hit my head off the post and the ice (lucky for the helmet), AND jammed my thumb against the post. It was completly immoblie for the rest of the night.

A few years ago, a wrestler named Owen Hart fell to his death while pretending to fly. He was hoisted on a cable hanging from the ceiling of the arena. The whole thing caused quite a stir.

most painful, would have to be two broken ribs, breaks placed exactly where if your heart beats it hurts, got it from rugby, other then that (suspected but not proved) a kidney injury that killed 1/3 of my kidney not so comfortable... probably from rugby.

The Owen Hart death was such a tragic lose to the sporting world. He was making an entrance from a cable harnessed when it snapped and he fell some fifty feet with his head smacking aganist one of the ring posts. Horrible and deeply saddening.

The Wrestler who jumped from the top rope and broke his leg was Sid while he was fighting in WCW. He never wrestled after that injury.

The worse injury i have seen in Wrestling was when Chris Benoit broke sabu neck in ECW, that is horrendous with sabu dropping straight onto his head.

At one of my swimming matches during a relay one of my teammates got overenthusiastic and dived too early, landing on me. That hurt.

I know someone who was at that game, 5 rows from where it happened. They had to use buckets of water to wash the blood off the pitch. He said Schmeical was leaning on the post trying not to be sick.

The worst one ever has to be Clint Malarchuk, goalie for the Buffalo Sabres, he got hit in the throat by a skate, cut an artery, blood everywhere.

It happened in the 80s, but I saw a video of it last year, oh man it was horrible. The blood is just pumping out of his throat, spurting through the air and you're thinking "good Lord, I'm watching a man die". Unbelievably they kept him alive, and he survived, eventually returning as a pro. But he suffered severe mental problems for years afterwards, only seeking treatment a couple of years ago.

Perhaps not an injury as such, but watching Ayrton Senna die at Imola in '94 and seeing my father break into tears is one of my most unpleasant childhood memories.

I didn't know Chris Benoit ever wrestled in the ECW, but it doesn't surprise me that Sabu broke his neck. The first time I watched an ECW program, a man had a staplegun taken to his forehead.

no....ECW was pretty extreme...the matches are planned of course...but the guys really got busted open.....and Sabu is just nuts in my opinion....i´ve seen him do things in the ring that are just crazy during barbed wire matches and the such...and the man has the scars to prove it.

yeah...benoit was in ECW(as was eddie guerrero and rey mysterio btw)....i´ve seen that particular match and the angle at which Sabu´s head hits the matt is just sick( btw...it´s kinda wrong to say that Benoit broke his neck..because if you see the video you´ll see that benoit executes the move perfectly...it´s Sabu that screws up the landing)

Owen Hart breaking Stone Cold Steve Austin´s neck is a pretty sick video too....specially because Steve Austin continued the match....even if he could barelly stand

Yeah i suppose it is wrong to blame benoit. I think its a type of suplex that goes slightly wrong, not anyones fault. Sabu is insane, look for his barbed wire match with Terry Funk to see a match which is just horrible. A part of the match see Sabu rip a part of his arm and his scream is just spine chilling. That match is where he got all those scars.

even more freaky is watching sabu get a some some sticky tape, and proceed to wrap it around his arm to close his arm up...AND THEN KEEP GOING IN THE MATCH!!!......*chants go up* HOLY ****! HOLY ****! HOLY ****!
