Enraged at the death of his father, Antiochos son of Antiochos leads the flower of the Seleukid army out of Antioch for a final defense. With Galatai doryphoroi on the flanks, and the argyraspidai at the center of the weakened phalanx, the Seleukids are able to pin the Getic marauders and their Phrygian allies just long enough for the battered kataphraktoi to slam into an opening in the committed battle lines.

The Seleucid assault on the Getic marauders was a valiant effort. The kingdom was still capable of putting up a fight. However, the Romani found themselves bored one day and with nothing better to do they decided to attack the Seleucids once again. A fleet carrying a legion sneaked through the Ptolemaic channel, circumvented the Arabian peninsula and landed at the heart of Babylon, ready to raze it to ashes.
