I voted Gah because I loved Space Precinct, a show that had about one series and then disappeared from the world... I still have all the toys in their original wrappings...(ebay in 50 years maybe?)

I refuse to read that. Frankly, I can't believe someone took the time to do anything like that. That is so sad I actually want to cry.Originally Posted by Alexander the Pretty Good

Star Wars off course. But only the old epizodes, not new (especially Epizode I which is terrible).

Com on, they were great, as long as you ignore the bad acting, stupid characters and poor story.Originally Posted by DukeofSerbia

Only story how Republic transformed into Empire is good in the new epizodes. Everything else sucks!Originally Posted by yesdachi
Spectacular effects can't supersede bad acting and boring story.

Tragically short-lived, but otherwise fantastic.

Yes, I thought Palpatine was the most interesting character in the new episodes - especially, the first two when he was rather understated. They did rather ham him up with special effects in the last one. But even so the way he played Anakin for a fool was impressively evil (playing on his fears; suggesting a cure for mortality but never actually lying about it; alternately appealing to Anakin's ambition, pique, love, rage, pity etc; and then at the end delighting in the irony of Anakin bringing about the one thing he had feared all along) .Originally Posted by DukeofSerbia
Actually, I liked pretty much the whole of the last episode - Anakin and Amidala were mind-numbingly inane, but that aside the dark mood of the fall of the Republic was well done and in some way vindicated the upbeat tone of most of the original three movies.
The best part of the new ones is probably Ewan McGregor's acting - some of the most consistantly solid performances of the whole bunch, in my opinion, and worthy of Sir Alec Guinness.
Ep II was the lowpoint of the new ones, and while III wasn't bad, it is fairly open to criticism (the best being from Maddox on thebestpageintheuniverse.com). Ep I wasn't as bad as is made out to be despite Jar Jar - the Queen didn't get too much screen time and it wasn't like the annoying stuff in II & III. Plus Anankin is just a little kid and not the idiot from II & III.

I did not give Grievious much thought. I think Lucas tends to put in some characters for the kids. Some of these work even for adults (Yoda), others don't (Jar-Jar, Ewoks, etc). It's like taking your kid to a Disney or Pixar movie - some of it is not for you. Maybe Grievious did not sell well with the kids in your cinema but my son thought he was the most interesting character. I doubt kids could root for the other "baddies" in III - a sulky child killer and an ugly-wuggly arch manipulator.Originally Posted by DukeofSerbia
Inspired by the myth, I guess, but maybe that's why it worked, for me at least. There's a "garden of Eden" type quality about a republic (democracy) falling into tyranny that gives it a certain poignancy. It's more interesting to me than the "freedom fighters" win kind of story of IV and VI.Transformation from Republic into Empire seems to be borrowed from Roman history.
i liked #3 but the story was a bit boring.Originally Posted by DukeofSerbia

Shouldn’t knock it until you try it. I don’t know anyone that did not enjoy the first one (a new hope) after watching it. even if it wasn’t their cup o tea.Originally Posted by IrishArmenian

Trek.
I'm no trekkie, but Lucas shot himself in the foot with the last 3 movies. Several times.
