The next version may be a bit higher than this I'm tempted to release it as a full mod, and then in-depth testing and feedback can be assessed by the downloaders. I can always bolt-on requests and improvements as improved versions, such as v1.1, v1.01 etc. What do you think?

what can i say..Rome is one of my fav games...and i play few other games, essencially fps and rpgs...but im a person who likes to change game regularly, so i can play RTW one week and another game the next, and then when i start missing RTW i come back...=), i always come back to RTW..even when M2TW comes out...well at least until a good roman era mod comes out...lol=)

Call that much? Not so long I ago I had 12 Rtw installs on my HD. Deleted a lot of them as my HD was geting full.

Actually yes, although a simple 1:1 realisation of a Warcraft (and which Warcraft are we talking about anyways - my favourites are Orcs and Humans and Tides of Darkness, I never got much into the universe of Reign of Chaos and beyond) mod leave too many possibilities of the Total War game unused. The warhammer mod as a sort of "cliché fantasy" mod would do the job better, I think, considering the early Warcraft games drew inspiration heavily from the Warhammer world.

Sadly the Warhammer mod is all but abandoned, and the Orcs especially never got finished.

I meant Warcraft 3: Reign of chaos/the frozen throne. I think it would be intresting to see a mod that was related to warcaft. there are so many cool skins that could be made.

And yes, the warhammer mod was a failer.

I hope that one day CA do something similar, no restrictions by history or geography, not to mention if it had orcs my young bloke would once again play the TW games against me.

As for mods owned:
SPQR, one of the best IMO.
Rio's 463AD IBFD mod Still a WIP but is lookin really good.
WarMap I, my first mod but is now superseded by
BI-WarMap II, which has too many regions which amount to too many battles for my taste. Which is why I created
WarMap III, the largest WarMap yet with limited regions for very few and far more decisive battles.

Want/working on:
Thanks to this thread , I am now creating WarMap IV which is the largest map possible for the RTW engine. Map heights is 1021x1021, with all settlements spaced as far apart as possible, and will only use the least amount of regions needed to fill the map. Which given the monster size of it could be quite a few.

Really, a mod that keeps the vanilla skins and feel to the game but adds more 'vanilla' style units and maybe an AOR system to simply make vanilla more varied and enjoyable e.g giving gauls archers and axemen etc....

I have only played two mods. I downloaded one version of RTR at the very end of 2004 and it got me started with mods (first real mod for any game, ever - and I've had cpu games since the TI-994A, the C64C, etc.). Since then I have had about 30 versions of EB, and only EB.

I want to eventually have for RTW (which, by the way stopped me from buying any other PC games since I got it in late '04 - I had a lot before then):

But I'm afraid my EB experience has spoiled me totally when it comes to trying out the other ones. It doesn't mean I don't respect other mods like the Napoleonic one or FATW or Blue Lotus, just that those aren't really what I'm interested in, though I know they are amazing.

Top of the list is EB for me. Apart from that one I'm particularly looking forward to The Crusades, a bug-free Blue Lotus, Paeninsula Italica, Chivalry, Zhan Guo, , Ran no Jidai (or is it the other way around now?) NTW2, and Hegemonia.

I have simply one mod that's installed:
Extended Greek with the Mundus Magnus Map extra for RTW 1.5

I've used the info and tutorials in the modding forum to alter this mod above and beyond the version I downloaded in May - just a few amateurish attempts to alter the campaign map, standardize the names of "Greek Characters," add a new unit or just alter a unit to make it recruitable by another faction.

I would trade at least one crucial part of my anatomy or a similarly valued lease with an "option to buy" on my immortal soul for a chance to download, install and become addicted to the Hegemonia Greek City-states mod. Wouldn't you?
