How to play another faction than the romans?

I would like to play another faction than the romans... is it possible? what to do?

Beat the game once on the long campaign as the romans or go into the strat file and change the unplayable factions to playable.

Thanx Lucjan!! "the strat file" how do i get there and what has to be changed? Is there a manual for this action?

Taking up from UltraWar, you have to move all factions from the unplayable and unlockable categories into the playable category. However, the game isn't designed to be played with the Senate or the Rebels, so you may want to keep these in the unplayable category.

Thanks both of you for the hints. I did it. Now i can see the factions in the screen and they can be choosed. After choosing them i try to proceed, but it is not possible to start a campaign... no matter who i choose, it is always the roman faction i have to play with...
