Well, I attribute that to the fact that our strikers amount to Berbatov (waste of money), Owen (more of a Solskjaer than an out-and-out striker now) and then Macheda/Welbeck/Diouf (aka, kids). None of them stand out in the class of Rooney, Torres or Drogba, do they?

Then there's our midfield... we lack a player like Fabregas, Lampard or Gerrard who can play in that centre role, keep the ball moving for his team, play the right passes, as well as score goals. Carrick does all that, but he isn't an amazing finisher. Scholes does it all, but he's way past his best and it shows in his game. Anderson... makes me cry. We just don't have that kinda player. :<

Still the ManU - Chelsea game to be played.
So you're hoping for a draw in the game then?

To be fair that stat just strikes me as the sign of a team who put their opponents under intense pressure and share the goals about.

Tearful David Beckham sees World Cup dream dashed by Milan injury

David Beckham's hopes of extending his England career into a fourth World Cup finals are in tatters after the veteran midfielder ruptured an achilles tendon in Milan's 1-0 Serie A victory over Chievo last night, an injury that will rule him out for the season and could curtail his illustrious 18-year career.

IA, I really hope Coyle is given time and money. You need a left back though, I feel Robinson isn't really the best option there.
He's only got what he has to work with. After Megson it will be interesting to see how Coyle does in the transfer market. Big Sam was very good at enticing players in the early years, let's hope that Coyle can do a bit of the same. It's not all tactics on the pitch, (or no tactics whatsoever under Megson), it's also about finding the right players to fit in and play with the squad.

Things seem to be settling down at long last. Another fine win yesterday.

Megson out! oops sorry, force of habit.

Hull are just being silly. Where are they going to get a manager as good as sunbed this late on in the season? I can't stand clubs that chop and change managers when it looks like they might get relegated.

How many managerial changes did Newcastle undergo in the 2008-09 season? Allardyce, Keegan, that other guy, Shearer... none of them given alot of time to adapt or settle into the team. And what happened? They were relegated. Chelsea are equally guilty of doing this, but at least they have the depth and talent in the squad to cope.

I fail to see what Hull hope to achieve by giving him the boot; the Premier League's not a walk in the park, especially for a distinctly average team.

Did Drogba intentionally stamp on him though, it looked to me like Motta pulled him over and Drogba stood on him as he was falling over. If anything it looked like a penalty to Chelsea, though the replays weren't great. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Drogba, if it was totally accidental it's even funnier in my book. Why is it I cheer on any British team in Europe except Chelsea...

It's Drogba, so you can never really be certain; sometimes he does legitimately fall over or crash into a defender and that's the end of that. But having watched the replay, it looks like there was some intent in the foul; mainly a retaliatory move, but these are hardly wise, are they?

Look at David Beckham in '98, when he was fouled by an Argentine player at the World Cup; did he not foul the Argentine while he was on the floor? It was a moment of madness and retaliation, and his reward was an early encounter with Radox and a towel. The same applies to Drogba, really.

It was a moment of gayness, and I apologise to gay men everywhere for comparing them to that incident.

I don't know, but it certainly was funny seeing him getting sent off. I enjoyed it at the end where Terry was complaining to the fourth official, except the fourth official wasn't paying attention and was looking the other way, then ignored him completely.

You know, there are many great things about not being English. The main one is you can loath John Terry totally and completely, without having to worry about him playing for your team.

I really only just recentley started playing soccer.

I play defender in both an outdoor and indoor leauge. I like to slide tackle and kick the ball. I'm still learning

I've always been interested in it but I played football, basketball, and baseball growing up, there was simply no time for soccer, however I have always watched the international level with great interest and my favorite game is when we play mexico, however this is being quickly surrpased by the England game coming up

Somehow I just knew that they were going to really give it everything at Craven Cottage, but I would never have imagined they could bounce back after what happened in Turin. Completely amazing from Zamora's equaliser right to the final whistle; a performance that not only encapsulates the spirit of the English game, but ultimately proved more convincing than European throughbreds Liverpool.

I really hope Fulham go on to win the trophy, it would be a great moment for the club, rather than the consolation prize it would be to Rafa and Stevie GBH.

Fulham ended up with a tough draw though. Dodged the two Spanish sides, but Wolfsburg (although not great this season) have all the qualities to win.

    Fulham v Wolfsburg
    Hamburg v Standard Liege
    Valencia v Atletico Madrid
    Benfica v Liverpool

Liverpool and Hamburg ended up with the easier games of the draw.

    -----

And the Champions League. Well Cesc vs Messi and Rooney vs Ribery. Exciting. United should overcome Bayern, fairly unbalanced and average team to be brutally honest.

    Lyon v Bordeaux
    Bayern Munich v Manchester United
    Arsenal v Barcelona
    Internazionale v CSKA Moscow

It's always tough to play in Russia, due to climate and rubbish playing surfaces, but Jose will defend, defend, defend and nick it in the home leg. Bordeaux should overcome Lyon, Diarra's suspension aside. I'm not making any predictions on the Arsenal v Barca game, because, well I don't want to jinx it. But, the way the draw has ended up my mate could end up right on calling a Bordeaux v Arsenal final.

We defenders are always the best. I'm a Left Defender/Wing-Back myself. Just don't learn from John Terry too much. You'll eventually end up learning how to bed your teammate's wives.

Easier? You probably don't remember a few years ago when Benfica defeated Liverpool. That Benfica looks like an amateur team compared to today's Benfica.

Porto won against Atletico in the Champions and Porto was totally dominated by Benfica this season in their games. Benfica has the strongest attack of Europe this season. If anything Liverpool drew exactly the worst team of the lot.
