I mock-voted in my Government class; does that count?

Not that I could anyway, this filthy resource-stealing immigrant will have to wait a few years before being pasteurized into a proper citizen.

I voted yes, or rather sent in an absentee ballot a few days ago.

Yup. In the senate race, it looks like my vote was for naught.

Ah well. I just hope I-933 passes, the death tax gets the boot, that stupid renewable energy act doesn't pass, and Owens gets the big kick to the back of the pants. (note: these are state elections)

Oh, I didn't vote Democrat- heavens no. When the incumbent is a Republican and no 3rd party candidate was available, I'd do a write-in. The only Republican encumbent I chose was Santorum- he and Casey were similar in many ways, but Santorum was a known quantity. I didn't trust Casey to put his stated beliefs above party politics.

The only Democrat I could see myself being able to vote for in the future will be Casey- assuming he sticks to his stated positions instead of following the party line.

I voted, but I can't say it was an enjoyable task. The Santorum/Casey race was the worst. It was like choosing between puking and diarrhea. I voted for Casey (=not incumbent) but I wasn't very happy about it.

Voted after work yesterday. Looks like we're keeping The Terminator (Repub) as Governor, Di-Fi (Demo) as Senator & Bilbray (Repub) as Rep (in other words, we kept the incumbents). And we kicked to the curb the proposed additional $2.60 per-pack ciggie tax.

Of course I voted! In fact I voted with my Grandma and my friend. My parents voted later in the day and my grandpa voted when the polls opened.

As my grandpa said, "Vote early and vote often!"

Edit: And my Senate and Gubernatorial votes went the way I thought and the way I wanted. No more DeWine, No Taft lackey!

I am pleased to say the New Hamphsire passed Ballot initiative 1 yesterday. In it, they explicitly forbid the state or municipalities from seizing land for private property. Not that it will hold up to a challenge, mind you, the Supreme Court has already said that local governments DO have that power, and they are the highest authority, higher than the Consitution even. But, it's the thought that counts. Good to see the people are on the right track w/ property rights.

They're all pointless. Even if you ammended the US Constititution, the Supreme Court has final say on what the Constitution actually says. But like I said, it's the thought that counts.

The one place these initiatives DO help is in dispelling any power hungry, land grabbing city council that thinks they can sieze property without paying a political price. I think every last member of the New London city council (of Kelo v New London) got voted out yesterday, but that's word of mouth, I haven't confirmed it yet....

Aah! Just the man I wanted to see. Pindar, is there any legal protection, even ammending the constitution, that the people can take to lessen the authority of Kelo v. New London, or does the court have to overturn it themselves and nothing else will do?

Couldn't agree more. Blame the screwed up Republican machine in PA for thinking the voters would elect a celebrity (Swann) over an experienced politician (Scranton).
