System requirements for MTW (taken directly off the box):

3D Hardware Accelerator CArd required - 100% DirectX 8.1 compatible 16 MB video card and drivers

Pentium II 350 or Athlon processor or higher

English version of Microsoft Windows 98/2000/ME/XP

    128 MB of RAM

Quad Speed CD-ROM drive (600 K/sec sustained transfer rate) and drivers

1.7 GB of uncompressed free hard disk space (plus 200MB for Windows swap file)

100% DirectX 8.1 compatible 16 bit sound card and drivers

100% Windows 98/2000/ME/XP compatible mouse, keyboard, and drivers

    DirectX 8.1 (Included)

Now given that my computer is even older than yours and can still run MTW okay, odds are good your machine can run it just fine as well.

If you can run Windows XP, chances are you can run MTW. What video card do you have? There are some known driver issues with nVidia cards.

I find it strange that you're asking whether your PC can run MTW. Do you mean M2TW? Apologies if you did mean MTW, which your system will run easily if it's video card meets the minimum requirements.

Right-click on your desktop, select "Properties", then select the "Settings" tab. From there, hit the "Advanced..." button and select the "Adapter" tab. This should show your card/video adapter type, hitting the "Properties" button from there will get you to a window that will show your driver versions.

I have an Intel (R) Graphics card, too, and MTW VI runs really well-no problems except when I try to update the drivers.

I have a Mobility Radeon 9600 and the game crashes when I go to a battle seen. Does anybody know if its the card or something else. All my other stuff is above the minimum requirements. Any help would be great.

Common occurrence, has something to do with the AA settings. If you set you Anti-Aliasing of your video card to x2 not x4 it should work a treat.

Welcome to the Org, The Barron! Always nice to see a fellow Minnesotan here.

If you follow Rythmic's advice, that should take care of the problem. If you continue to experience difficulties, however, I would recommend checking out the Apothecary. They have a stickied thread dedicated to technical issues with MTW.

Hmmm, I'm not sure that changing the anti-aliasing settings will prove beneficial with a Radeon card - worth a try, but that tip is usually targeted at later generation GeForce cards (6xxx/7xxx). With desktop Radeons (9800 and x800 series) I've found greatest stability/compatibility with the older Omega Drivers version 2.6.53 (based on Catalyst 5.7). They can be found here: http://www.omegadrivers.net/archive.php But I don't know if these are appropriate for a mobile graphics chipset - looks like slightly different drivers are offered at ATI/AMD's website for mobility and desktop chips. Reading the forums over at DriverHeaven.net, it seems that sometimes the desktop drivers work fine, other times not. I did find one reference (http://www.driverheaven.net/archive/...p/t-73935.html) to a "Mobility Modder" tool, which sounds intriguing.
    Good luck!
P.S. One valuable tool when experimenting with different driver versions is Driver Cleaner Pro, which is available for download from several different sources. Version 1.5 seems to be the latest. It completely purges all traces of previous driver installations - just make sure to exactly follow the step-by-step instructions provided.

I may try the Omega Drivers (takes me back to the 3dfx days!) for my Radeon 9000 Pro, or the 5.7s, as I'm currently using the 6.5s. I don't have any problems but performance is a bit sluggish and I'm wondering why, as MTW was better than this even with my old Voodoo5.
