Eddie Izzard's really the only one that I've seen all the through, besides Dave Chapelle in San Francisco.

Dressed to Kill is Izzard's best.

Christopher Titus is fricken hilarious but he's not up there.

"Can you explain to me why the car is parked at such an odd angle, on the porch, in the neighbors yard?"

I can PM you part of the video if you want. I don't think it's appropriate for the Frontroom.

It's got some cursing in it.

That list is the past month's Comedy Central specials

I have to choose Lewis Black. He is the most comically angry person in the world.

    Honorable mentions to:
Bill Hicks-some of the most poignant comedy ever ("Two guys walk up to me after a show, stop me, push me around a little. They say "hey, we're Christians and we didn't like the joke about Jesus." So I said, "alright, forgive me.")

George Carlin-Despite being an angry old fart now he used to be one of the funniest men alive.

Lenny Bruce-Without whom none of the above would exist.

Eddie Izzard-Where would the world be without British Transvestites?

personally, I vote Mitch Hedberg, but among the dead comics. (He died last year in a drug related incident)
Among living comics, I would have to say either Eddie Izzard or Jackie "the Joke Man" Martling, who was on the Howard Stern show, so his stuff is all about sex and porn, but very funny Example:
-3 guys and a girl get stranded on a island. A year goes by and the girl is so ashamed of what she is doing she kills herself. A month later the guys are so ashamed of what they're doing they bury her. A month more goes by and the guys are so ashamed they dig her back up.
    That joke is just wrong.

not exactly the most inventive list in the world...

Sarah Silverman has killed most of my enthusiasm for american stand-up. Introduced at the Secret Policeman's Ball as being 'One of the Best American comedians', she is among one of the least funny people ive ever met!

From those i would only rate:
    Eddie Izzard
    Dave Chappell
    Mitch Hedberg
    Chris Rock
    Robin Williams
    Billy Connolly
as being any good at stand-up

Notable comedians you missed (mostly from Britain):
    Jimmy Carr
    Jo Brand
    Jon Culshaw
    Omid Djalili
    Seth Green
    Richard E. Grant
    Al Murray
    Dylan Moran
    Stephen Fry
    Chevy Chase
    Bill Bailey
    Lee Evans
    Rob Brydon
    Dara Ó Briain
