Thread: Beating the Inquisitors

    Default Beating the Inquisitors

    In the recently released data files there is a file called descr_campaign_db.
    At there looks as if there is code for the behaviour for inquisitors but I am not sure what is the best code to change.

    <max_inquisitors_per_region uint="1"/>
    <max_inquisitors uint="40"/>

    This seems to change the nymber of inquisitors on the map

    <denounce_chance_min int="5"/>
    <denounce_chance_max int="95"/>

    This seems to control the success of denouncing

    We cant denounce inquisitors as far as I know so this must be the success rate for the inquisitors themselves.

    What are your thoughts?

    It seems feeding provinces to the Papal States may have negative long term consequences...

    Maybe it ,means that they can only send 1 inquisitor to a province max

    No, I'm thinking they get one inquisitor for every province they own.

    I doubt it,

    I' think i;ve seen more than 1 inquisitor running around, even though the Papal States were only just Rome

    That doesn't sound right either... I know for a fact I've seen at least 6 inquisitors running around in my English campaign about turn 30 or so, and the Pope-o-matic only had two provinces, the ones he started with. I know I killed at least 3 so no clue how many they actually start with.

    I don't know what else we could link this to though. It would seem, at least from my view, that the pope can have upwards of 40 guys running around, by the game tries/forces only 1 inquisitor per region.

    They don't actually have *any* inquisitors to start... they spawn automatically.

    I played as the Papal States once ;)

    Well pardon me your Popliness!!!

    Did you have to build inquisitors or did they just spawn? Did you even have the option TO build inquisitors? If they just randomly spawned, where did they spawn? Anywhere, or in your territory only?

    They can spawn anywhere.
    I took Iconium once and built a priest. Next turn the region had 3% catholicism and suddenly I noticed an inquisitor there. He took out all priests I made susbsequently and I had to move a few assassins to take care of his zeal.

    You can't build them, they spawn randomly, in territory the Papal States own.

    They also move on their own and try people without orders if you don't use up all their movement every turn.

    I would guess that the region limit being set at one means that only one inquisitor can be spawned in a region per turn.

    Mmm... They definitely don't get one every turn.
