    Default Tea vs Coffee?

    Which do you like better?

Being a prim and proper English gentleman, I have to go for tea. Though I'm not an addict nor do I not like coffee. It depends what mood I'm in really, though I'd rather be in a mood which leads to me drinking tea; a much more subtle flavour. Coffee is hard and bitter, more for when I feel like smashing something.

here is some drink for thought: http://www.psychologytoday.com/artic...28-000002.html

I favour 'brown'. It's what comes out of army canteens at the end of an exercise. Tastes the same regardless of the label - 'tea', 'coffee', 'beef and onion soup' - it's all the same, and also very very welcome when cold, wet and knackered.

*But otherwise, tea - you get to have scones and cucumber sandwiches with it. Not that coffee doesn't have it's place...

Hot chocolate is probably the best, but I enjoy some tea mostly for its pomposity. Which is a word.

Hot chocolate is the only warm beverage I will drink. Can't stand tea or coffee. I'm assuming you aren't including sweet iced tea in the "tea" category.

No they aren't. I like strong coffee black. I usually just go to starbucks and get a tall house blend, with MAYBE a tiny bit of skim milk, otherwise just black.

Hot chocolate is alright, although a bit sweet for a me. I drink it on occasion. I really like Starbucks Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Now that is good stuff.

I was originally a coffee drinker, but as I age, my palatte is more akin to the subtle flavour of tea.

Though Hot Chocolate is good too. But only in the Cold Northlands .....*sigh*

Tea and Coffee are both good. But I have a preference for a good cup of coffee. Of course that means getting a good french press and freshly ground beans. A solid coffee should always have a good hint of chocolate flavor to it.

As for tea's, iced teas are by far the greatest. Nothing like a ice cold glass of sweet spearmint tea in the summer.

Pompous Tea. Is that from Darjeeling?

Between tea and coffee, there is no choice. I drink both with enthusiasm. There is little finer than sipping a good black coffee in a Paris cafe, or an espresso in Naples, or an oilslick of wonderment in Istanbul. And so on, you get the picture. Coffee is very much an international experience because many cultures can make fabulous coffees.

    Foreigners however cannot make tea.

For comfort, I am in accord with Somebody Else - I drink brown. Properly timed and stewed, brown is the finest drink for the depths of the soul known to mankind.

Voted coffee as I cannot stand tea and do love a nice strong black coffee. Has to be filtered though none of that instant rubbish.

Good man, the french press is my favorite method of brewing coffee as well. It's hard to beat the coffee you get from having the grounds in full contact with hot water for the entire brewing process.

For my part though, I tend to like the brighter, light-roasted coffees. Although, there's certainly room for the heavier full-bodied stuff as well.

Coffee in the morning and tea in the evening. I usually buy Brazilian Santos beans and make it old-style, no machine, or a nice Illy espresso if I am short of time. In the evening a good earl grey/lady grey, or (good)jasmin because it kinda makes you high, goodnight!

Definately a french roast or darker for the mornings. For the afternoons nothing beats a medium roast cup of kona coffee.

    I have this déjà-vu feeling...

I drink both, but nothing beats the pure joy and enlightnement of a nice cup of coffee, on a sunny sunday morning, in the pleasant company of your lovely wife, both still wearing your pyjama's...

Add to that a piece of chocolate and the concept "heaven on earth" gets a new dimension.

A good Cappuccino from Coffee Republic occasionally, though most of the time I prefer Tea, preferably with honey and lime or lemon otherwise black with no sugar.
