    Default M2TW Rebels

I was wondering, is it possible to turn their spawns off somehow? I edited the descr_strat file and changed both navy and brigand values to 0, but that didn't seem to to anything. My newly started campaign still spawns rebels.
Is there another file which controls that?

descr_regions.txt has a few regions flagged with the hidden resource 'no_brigands'

The file is in the 'World'-'Maps'-Base' folder.

Have a play around with that.

turnip you have to higher the value... more high it is, less chances of spawn
I've set x4 , and their spawn is realy low .. almost none :)

    brigand_spawn_value 120
    pirate_spawn_value 168

Right idea, wrong direction. You want higher numbers to tone them down. I've never gone as far as 100 (worked this way in RTW, too), so I don't know if that shuts them off completely.

    - oops, I meant '200', not '100' above. Sorry, I don't have edit privileges...

    Ahhh, now thats really counterintuitive!
You'd think that spawn 0 would mean no spawn but it means massive spawn eh? I noticed because I had 5 rebel armies spawning into my turkish occupied Ryazan every single turn....

So 200 is the value I'm aiming for to completely shut them or do I have to edit the regions file to disable them? Rebels just get annoying once you own most of the world. Having to ensure unblocked trade roads every single turn is tedious huh?

    Thanks for the replies!

You can also try teleporting them into the desert or deep into the Russia steppes with the move_character cheat if you want.

The chance of spawning is 1 divided by the value. Setting it to 200 gives you 0.5% chance of brigands spawning any given turn. Right now it's 2%.

Teleport them into the ocean, maybe they'll drown.

Since you can't teleport a boat onto land, I think you can't teleport those guys into the ocean, although I suppose it'd be nice to let em visit the aztecs (if the world were round)
However, its a spawn/turn value, so I might run out of space to put the rebels at, since there is no cap on how many there are allowed to be ;)
If the value is 1 divided by the spawn value, then unless I use a high number, the chance will still be substantial. On the other hand, I used 0 as the spawn value, and 1 / 0 is undefined (or infinity, depending on how you view it)

Lastly, I was just wondering whether its intentional (scripted) that I currently have exactly 5 rebels stacks spawning into Ryazan region (I am Turks and took it before the Russians did) every single turn? I didn't see rebel stacks anywhere else except twice so far
