    Wink M2TW...Is it true?

Is it true that the charge and missle damage in M2TW has been lowered from what it was in RTW? I didn't get it primarily for this reason (that and being broke :D), and I'd like to know.
    Thanks,
Vuk the Brave, Sexy, and Mighty Ruler of the ORG

P.S. Nice sig, eh mods? Shame my real one can't be displayed...

Charge damage was vastly increased and ranged missile damage (from bows at least) decreased from what I've experienced.
Crossbow damage is quite substantial on the other hand though.

    Hope that helps.

A formed Cavalry charge is absolutely devestating, 60-70% of the unit the horsies hit is likely to be killed on impact. To balance this out somewhat, cavalry are not nearly as resilient as in RTW, if they get bogged down in combat, they will quickly be killed. Its not until you get late troops such as pikemen or Haberdiers, or indeed any troops that can form a spear hedge, that infantry can stand up to a cavalry charge

I have had much more success with missiles in M2TW than i ever did in RTW, if the damage of missile troops has been reduced, their effectiveness has not, the AI seems much more inclined to use its own missile troops, in doing so allowing you to use yours more effectively

    regards

From what I've seen, missiles are more effective against unarmoured units than they were in RTW, and less effective against more heavily armoured units.
EX: A volley of arrows will kill rather a lot of peasants, but not many knights.

    Which makes total sense.

Charge damage is through the roof. You have to actually be clever to beat cavalry in this version, usually luring them into enclosed spaces or forcing them to attack uphill.
Basically, while cavalry have a huge charge bonus, their regular combat stats are generally lower than their dismounted equivalents.

Awesome! That is how it should be! (except overall missile damage should be higher...)
    Thanks all!
