Default Further Thoughts on Impressment with new idea: Conquered Recruits

Because of the delay betwixt posts for Junior Members I'm going to squash these two topics together... and it helps that they're semi-related.

JCoyote had an idea about Impressing prisoners to fight for you as a fourth alternative found here: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=76876

I think it's applicable though it would require far too much code for a simple patch. My thoughts are to make it more historicaly accurate: For example, as the French you just whooped the English and managed to impress three units of under-strength Levy Spearmen.

You could never use them against the English as they would turn on you. Also, let's say you garrison them in Paris while Caen is still in English hands. Being in a province that borders a home province would cause a roll of the dice for each turn they stay there with chances for desertion similiar to pissed off crusaders, turning into brigands(after a turn you suddenly see three empty slots in your garrison and find them as rebels in the paris region), or running back to their masters. And the further you move them away from English lands the smaller and smaller the chances and let's say that two regions away from Cain(like in Metz or so) the chances are nil.
However, you could never replenish their ranks - even if it's a unit you can recruit - as they are foreigner units after all. Kinda like mercenaries.

This led me to my own speculation: the Rights of the Conqueror.

Since ancient times once conquered, the people would often serve in the armies of their new masters. The one million man army of Xerxes III(or was it II) that invaded Greece was not one million Persians.

So my idea would be thus: EXAMPLE: You wipe out the Milanese as a faction. Well, whichever city/caste they last had set as capital(or maybe their original capital) you can now recruit Geonese Crossbowmen. It could only be one set unit type per faction. HRE could be Zwiehander, Polish could be Dismounted Polish Nobles or something. And that one unit type can only be recruited from that one settlement. And it would definitly have to be a unit type specific to that faction.

Just something to add just one more level to the game.

So are you suggesting, under certain conditions you could "capture" the ability to make faction specific units from other factions you've conquered? That would make some sense.

Another idea would be the ability to enforce conscription from your vassals... demanding soldiers from them instead of money. Which would be VERY historically accurate and another interesting way to get faction specific units of other factions.

Perhaps just have region-specific units - such that whomsoever owns the territory gets to recruit whatever, much like in some of the mods for RTW... With a smattering of faction units that can be built anywhere, would provide for enough variety between factions, and allow for variety within a faction dependent on the territories being fought in. Perhaps a slight boost for units native to a faction, or an increase in cost for the local levies...

As for vassals sending troops to fight - sounds good to me. Or perhaps getting them to send armies against a target of your choice (hijacking the crusading code for this might be an idea...)
Don't have any aspirations - they're doomed to fail.

    Rumours...

Well region specific units to a certain extent. It wouldn't make sense to have chivalric knights as Turkey if you conquered western Europe, but it would make sense to have the old regional units of MTW with certain exceptions for huge differences in faction.

So for example, as Egypt you could recruit region specific Arab units, like the ol' armenian cavalry and such. As a catholic faction, you could recruit geonese crossbowmen if you held genoa.
