Question What Year is the New World Accessible?

I am playing the English and have met the Long Campaign requirements to win on turn 167 (about year 1308), I play the default turn timeline. I have several Dockyards and am waiting for the historical event to be able to build the Naval Drydock so I can build Caravels. What year, or turn, does this occur?

Take a look in the FAQ on this board -- it's in there. IIRC it's year 1490 or so.

1390, actually. The campaign only goes to 1500 I think.
