Just had a look at the Arcane Legions screenshots and it looks rather like Total War battles:

I think the Lordz should be able to use that engine to provide serious competition to CA. My only advice would be try to get a decent strategic layer. Its combining the superlative battles with the hook of a meaty campaign that really makes TW shine, IMO. Just doing historical battles alone will probably remain a niche market.

I second everything that has been said here! I would suggest making the campaign a huge part of the game.

We use the Arcane engine, that does not mean the new game will be a TW or Arcane Legion clone. Just like the Quake or Torque engine provides very different games. We are not modding, but writing a new game and programming a fitting game structure. That will look and play totally different.

All we can tell you at this stage is that the new game we are developing, will be a historical strategy game set during the Napoleonic Wars. It will support single-player and multi-player battles and have a campaign, more focused on military micro-management.

Best of luck, I just looked at Screenshots for Arcane game, wow, i am at a loss for words, Finally, a Napoleonic game which is good! No, cancel that, a Napoleonic game which (Hopefully) will be awesome, spectacular and great!

Arcane doesn't look great but graphics aren't the issue in games such as this.

It's good to hear that you're not planning to just produce a TW clone - that would be a waste of talent, imo.

Hold on a second, so someone liked your NTW mods for RTW and now they are helping you to make your own game? So your a developer like CA now and can make money like them? Sorry if I got it wrong :P

Looks great! If you need a skilled programmer (experience with both graphics coding with opengl and directx, as well as AI programming), project manager or system architect in a year from now - or possibly even this summer, I'd be highly interested.
