Thread: Anything with Phoenicia?

    Default Anything with Phoenicia?

Hello, I am new here, I'm addicted to RTW. I was terribly disappointed with M2TW. It sucked.

Anybody know of any RTW mods that have Phoenicia? I know they were gone by the time the game starts, but they did a lot, and it would be fun to play them.

    Thats all for my intro.

Welcome Sohwen. I was terribly disappointed with Rome, but I wont go there.

I'm not sure if there is a mod with the Phoenicians in it, maybe you should check the Rome TW Modifications Fora.

You could always try migrating the Carthaginians back to the middle east.

    Mass Carthage migration to Tyre/Sidon!

I can honestly say I haven't thought of taking the Carthaginians back to Phoenicia. But then they'd still be called Carthage .

Anyway could someone translate "of sea and sun" to ancient latin or ancient greek for me? I'd try it myself, but I'm not educated in either language and would probably do it improperly.

I am sorry to say that I have no idea of an answer to either question, but welcome anyhow!

The Carthaginian people were Phoenicians, ethnically. They were a large Phoenician colony at the time. The Phoenician 'homeland" of Sidon and Tyre still had Phoenician people, but they were conquered by the Ptolemaics ( or Egypt ). Maybe your goal as Carthage could be to reconquer Phoenicia like the other posters said, I actually tried that migration once, and I was able to defeat Egypt, and conquered the Middle East untill I lost interest in that campaign.

Im not 100% sure, but i seem to remember seeing a mod with the phoenicans in somewhere in the RTW mods forum, it may be in development though.

As i said, im not 100%, but thatd be a good place to start the search!
