Late generals in the campaign-where are they!?!?

Hi all,
I have noticed that late generals are completely absent from the campaign. Whilst you can upgrade the armour of early generals with a certain level of blacksmith building, it seems impossible, no matter what the year, to obtain the (oh so very cool) late generals that are available in custom battles. Any suggestions anyone, for how to mod them in perhaps? I think the problem may be that the upgrading process was linked to the marian reforms in RTW, which of course are now gone, so could any of you experienced modders out there could think about how to link it to the discovery of gunpowder perhaps?

I believe that they aren't avaliable in game, as you say, and i don't think that anyone's worked out a way to get them back in.

I imagine it shouldn't be too tough to change. Although I haven't actually thought of doing it just yet.
