    This campaign start I made a point of working on my family tree a little. I found the French princess and caught her with 5 charm and married her to my heir, Rufus, who's now King. Lookit them kids! Two boys and two girls, and she's only 32 so I may see more still.

    Then, after a whirlwind diplomatic tour, my princess, Cecilia, ran into an older man (he was a random suitor) with nice stats, so I decided to retire her. She was closing on mid-30s. She now has two boys too. She's 38 and just had the second. Her hubby, who's currently off on a little chevuchee in France, is 56 though. At least he's in a castle for the moment.

    The French attacked me around turn 23 or so, got excommed, then just as Ralph of Merryfield beseiged Angers, the silly Pope died! But I guessed right on the new Polish pope and he's keeping mum so far. Angers fell, Bordeaux is next. The plan was to take the three French castles as fast as possible with one strong force, then keep Anger and maybe Bordeaux and dump Toulouse after burning everything down. (I hate the French... so gonna emasulate them and watch the neighbors carve them up while I try to get some crusading done!) I don't want to end up in a multi-faction war with Denmark, HRE, Milan, and Portugal. Portugal is allied with France, though I'm keeping it happy with some bribes for now.

    Henry, the new faction heir, I married off early to a random offering. I should have held out a couple of years and I probably could have found him a princess too. Didn't know when William would die.

    What's cool is I may end up with two princesses soon, since Rufus has those two daughters. They seem to be twins. They are both 7 now.

    That's 6 boys from 0-10 years old at the moment.

    With the latest tweaks to the traits file I'm much happier with working on general/governor raising. Losing that bad taxman from sitting in castles really helped. Haven't seen any of my tweaked ancilliaries yet (I kept the chances low), but it's early. A master of archers should turn up soon since the woodsmens (sic) guild is in.

    Heh... so the French offered to let me become thier vassal. Nice froggies. Getting desperate. Talking big.

    There is a max limit of 4 children per guy, including adoptions, unfortunately...

    BTW, I've made a little tweak to princesses, I added +3 charm to the "IamPrincess" trait(hidden one to name her as princess), and also included the extra triggers for princesses traits kobal2f has in his mini-mod. This way, most princess start off with 5-6 charm, and they are now as beautiful as a princess should be! at least in my filthy imagination, that is...
    Still maintain that crying on the pitch should warrant a 3 match ban

    I saw you'd done this. I've resisted so far. I might boost them 1 charm though. I find it fairly easy to find at least a charm 4 princess around. I think toning down some of the negative traits and ancilliaries for princesses might be useful too. Secret loves sure seem to pop often. But that may be because they get sent off on their own so much. Closer to home is probably better in that regard.

    I suppose a limit of four kids per wife makes sense. Since I'm playing the English, is Henry allowed eight though?

    I wonder if the fertility imposes limits on family size. Can a non-fertile wife have four? Can an ugly one have more than one? "I have my heir, thank you very much, now let me find me one of those foreign adulteresses ancilliaries!"

    I had a "lamed groin" Henry show up in one game: no kids.

    I've mostly gone with the adoptions to date. I'm wondering how much inheritance there is here. Have to get a crusade going and pump these daddies up before their sons mature.

    Darned frogs won't leave me alone though. And Sicily is now excommed too. Sicily would be a nice stepping stone.

    The princess thingy is a matter of preference, IMO. It has little effect on game balance and such. I like 'em hot! :p

    And yes, no matter the fertility rating of the spouse, you can get 4 children. It's just not that likely to happen...
    Still maintain that crying on the pitch should warrant a 3 match ban

    I for my game have added triggers to princess creation to include the NaturalPrincess trait, since there were no triggers for it. Used the priest's percentages as template. Just fairer for all than having always a charm 4 or so princess spawning or a charm 0. Now you get at least 1 and up to 3 :) (plus the other ancillaries and traits I activated)

    Yeah, every time I dip into those files I see something else that just seems wrong.

    Hope 1.2 is out soon so I can install that and then go back to tweaking.
