    Default introducing factions

    i was looking everywhere for that info but didnt find it anywhere.

    i tried to introduce a new faction to the sicily campaign map.

    i entererd following sequence into the descr_strat file:

    faction thrace, balanced smith
    denari 10000
    settlement
    {
    level large_town
    region Naxos

    year_founded 0
    population 2000
    settlement_tax 51
    plan_set default_set
    faction_creator thrace
    building
    {
    type core_building governors_palace
    }
    building
    {
    type port_buildings port
    }
    building
    {
    type defenses stone_wall
    }
    building
    {
    type hinterland_farms farms
    }
    building
    {
    type barracks militia_barracks
    }
    }

    character Sautes, named character, leader, command 0, influence 0, management 0, subterfuge 0, age 33, , x 79, y 37
    traits GoodCommander 1 , StrategicSkill 1 , Intelligent 1
    army
    unit greek general's guard cavalry exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
    unit greek hoplite militia exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
    unit greek hoplite militia exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
    unit greek hoplite militia exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
    unit greek hoplite militia exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

    i also put "thrace" into the list of playable factions on top of the file.
    the coordinates are correct, (there s no other charracter on the same coordinates, and the city doesnt have mulptiple owners.)

    when i try to start a campaign i fall back to the provincial campaign screen.

    i have allready used this method on earlier versions of rtw. i suspect its something new about rtw 1.5 wich i am not aware of.
    does somebody have an idea wot i m doing wrong?

    Could b a couple things:

    1) What errors did you see with -show_err when you exited the game after bouncing back to the menu (this is what will tell us the most if you got a message)

    2) If you look at other regions in the descr_stat.txt there is no settlement_tax line

    This list isn't exhaustive by any chance.

    Are you sure you're using 1.5 and not 1.3?

    Right click the shortcut of RTW on your desktop and go into Properties under target, add -show_err to the end of the file path

    -show_err shows you any error messages that may occur while playing/testing RTW

    This should answer your question on how to get -show_err to work and what is is
