always keep him close to the action, but not close enough to get killed heheh
Command, as Chivalry, both influence morale positively when a unit is close to the general's unit. The distance is approx 10-15 trebuchet lengths.
Want gunpowder, mongols, and timurids to appear when YOU do?
Playing on a different timescale and never get to see the new world or just wanting to change your timescale?

Trebuchet lengths, not trebuchet fire distances

Sorry...I thought you meant fire distances...![]()
I'm a little touchy on any trebuchet matters...![]()

Call it personal experience. I didn't give some formula afterall, but the AI is passive enough that I can run fun tests in the heat of battle.
Morale just tends to sharply drop off when a unit exits the general's morale radius (especially noticable when fighting timurids)

Yea, command and chivalry both improve morale. You might to be able to even find that in the manual but I'm not that sure of it
"I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." - Issac Newton
Certainly Chiv/Dread and Command improve morale in the battles, noone is disputing those facts. The question is how exactly does it work? Factionhair 's (heh) anecdotal evidence is welcome and may be a true indicator, but we can't know for sure. My guess this is sadly yet another variable or mechanic buried in game code that CA will not tell us how it works.
