    That would've been sweet!

On a more serious note, hopefully the next patch for Medieval 2 will be out in time for you guys to write about how effective it is at improving the game.

sapi, what about part-time or "guest" reporters?

I'm just thinking of the Main Hall: It doesn't always have something newsworthy going on all the time, but now and then there's events that may be worth making available to a wider audience (progress made on a MTW mod, a particularly epic AAR, etc.). I don't know how well that would fit into the Gazette's setup -- if at all -- but I thought I should at least bring it up.

Perhaps a recurring section with a short blurb about the real life of some historical figure from our gaming period(s)? Kind of a monthly factoid type of thing...

I could write an introduction to the backroom, if you guys wanted. It'd probably mainly stress the rules and gentlemenly behavior one should try to adhere to in order to provide a comfortable atmosphere for reasoned discourse.

Why, back in my day, we just had the tavern - none of this front and back-room stuff! And we had to wait five minutes for our modems to load the site! [/geezer]

    Ja Mata, Tosa.

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
