Can anyone help me. I have a fully paid orginal version of M2TW. Every time I go to load the game, my cd player clicks and clicks and clicks. It does finally load but it take a long time to do so.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks

Obvious question, but have you checked the CD? Might be full of filth. Otherwise, I'm guessing your cd-drive is about to die... does it have any problems loading other cd's?

Word of advice. If you find your DvD has a split in it, don't attempt to keep getting it to work. I did that once and it resulted in an explosion of sharp plastic and the destruction of my DvD drive.

It has done it from the first time I placed the M2TW disk in the drive after having installed it. There is no damage to the disk. I think it has to do with the protection. It is the only disk that does that and the clicking stops after the program loads and it only clicks as it is booting up. Hope that helps.
cheers

I had similar problems with other game cds and what I found was that after using a vacuum on my dvd drive, it took care of all my woes (not in the way of destroying the drive but making stuff actually work)

I apologize. I didn't know I was asking a question that was out of line. It just didn't happen ( teh clicking ) on any of the other TW disks that I have and I didn't know what was happening.
cheers
Your question wasn’t out of line, bobowes. It was the hack talk that was out of line.
My old DVD reader would frequently fail to boot MTW2, spinning and wheezing until finally it would report that no disk was in it at all. I had to replace the drive.
My guess is that the copy protection has very little tolerance for drives that might be a wee bit out of perfect alignment due to age or wear.
