    Question Question for football junkies...

Well, it depends on who's a player and who's not. I want to play on grass, and I need some adequate equipment.

My favourite brand is Nike, but for football on grass, you have to buy football kicks with studs.

What's the difference between the big alloy studs pressurized in the sole and the studs some Nike football kicks have, the long plastic ones, embedded into the sole?

I assume you're talking about the difference between blades and studs? Personally, I've always preferred studded boots, as you can use different size studs depending upon the playing conditions.

Depending on what kind of field you're playing on, you might be able to get away with trainers with dimpled soles-sometimes known as astroturf shoes. Playing with studs on hard, dry turf is not really necessary and is going to increase your risk of injury.

This is what I'm talking about, the longer ones embedded in the sole. These are blades?

Gonna go next week to play on football field, and it will be dry(no raining announced for the next week).

blades were supposed to give you more control, but have also been linked with an increase in injury.

metal studs are actually supposed to be kinder on your opponents. they might hurt but they are less prone to nicks and scratches so less likely to give them nasty cuts.

Well, I'm interested in good stability and control, I don't care too much as I don't slid too much.

How much do you weigh? On dry fields, I have found that the blades on the heel break off fairly easily. Happens less frequently with molded round cleats, and no problems with studs. This is probably due to my weight (200 lbs), my position (center back), and general pitch quality (crap). I need to quickly change directions when back-pedalling, and a lot of lateral force gets applied to the heel studs.

I weigh about 145 pounds, and I usually go forward to attack. I suck at defending, although I have good reactions, but when it comes to marking, you better keep me out of this.

Pitch quality...Hmm. Haven't played on that pitch for about 6-7 years. I played only 2 times on a football field, and mainly on asphalt or synthetic field.

Shouldn't be a problem for you them. I'll just shut my slow, fat, defender's mouth then.

I used studs, and will use m again this season... I suggest u use iron studs because you can change them and they won't break or sumthing like that very quickly...

BTW, I'll kick your butt with football...

I never used football kicks with studs, that's why it's very delicate to me... I'll have to see what's on offer.

No. It's all for me. I played once with normal sports shoes (trainers), football, on synthetic, and I missplaced my foot and I injured my right toe. After that, I couldn't walk properly for a week.
