Indeed a major loss. Rest in peace, Mr. Vonnegut, and thank you.

Yes. One of the science fiction greats. I love his short story collection "Welcome to the Monkey House" and the novel "Cat's Cradle".

Sorry to hear that. Vonnegut was a fine author and great activist for free speech.

Hunter Thompson is waiting for him with a round of drinks.

Stephen King had an interesting remark about Kurt Vonnegut, he said when KV wrote a book, he wrote it one page at a time, meaning he wrote the page, did his edits, and went on to the next page. So when a page was done, it was done, and when the last page was written, the book was finished.

I would like to think that Vonnegut is exactly were he expects to be - completely dead with no conciousness at all and not in any afterlife

I believe King described the two styles as bashers and swoopers. The former bashing out every page complete and swoopers who splurge it all out then tidy up later.

God Bless Mr. Rosewater. Even his humor had a point to it. One of the more imaginative authors of all time. A complete original.
