    Default An unreachable town?

Here you may see the map. There's a province in the very North, town's Themiskyra. Has anyone ever taken it? Because looks like it's not possible to get to, due to the forests around...

To be honest with you - and in the several/many campaigns I've played - I've never seen or noticed that province/town. I agree with you, I don't know how you would get to it.

Maybe someone else has seen or captured this. Good luck!

Yes you can get to it. It's a long trek though. There's an opening in the forest west from there, which you go through. Then it's a long path eastwards until you reach it. It's guarded by some 'special' units though. I've seen the AI attempt to take the settlement a couple of times, but usually it doesn't bother either.

Nice Scythian campaign you have going there.

I suggest taking out Perthia is a more worthy objective. To secure your eastern border and reduce the strength of the faction most like yours in fighting style (horse archers).

The 'unreachable town' doesnt have to be taken. But...you wont have really done RTW until you have. Allow about 5 years to get troops there and back...and then they will still be in the middle of nowhere.

    Good luck.

Yeah, I see the note "the Amazons" there, but had no idea that could've been chariots! :)
Well, whatever they have there, I'll take the town.
Thanks for letting me know it IS reachable.

Sure, as soon as I have enough troops in Campus Alanni I will attack the Parthians. It can't be any other way but this. But Campus Alanni is a weak town so far.

    Themistikyra is indeed reachable.

I have taken it as a senate mission playing as Julii.

I have taken it in taking the entire map, also playing as Julii.

I have even taken it as the Egyptians, and by careful nurturing and building projects, turned it into a Large City that was profitable and well able to sustain itself.

There were only two problems with it, but I don't want to spoil the surprise! Go take it, and enjoy the show!

That's probably because you have "the fog of war" turned on. I've mine switched off, and it's way better w/o it!

Thanks all for the comments on that mysterious town.

I disagree, ive been playing End Of Days without the FOW, and its completely unrealistic, and everythign can be planned for, i much prefer the uncertainty of the FOW (makes use of agents much more fun)
And ive decided as my Scythia campaign is actually going rather terrible atm, im gonna send all i have to try and take this town, just because im curious about what dwells there!

Your advice are quite valuable, thanks. *handshake* :)

Right now I've got more urgent problems instead of sending a contingent to those forests, so as for now there's only my diplomat trying to find a way through those "jungles".

Well yes, I understand what you mean, the FOW is a nice thing. But the matter is that I played hell lot of time with it and now I wanted to try the game w/o it. It feels new and therefore cool.

And another value of the abscence of the FOW is that I can make the shots of the whole map which is essential for the stories I kind of try to write.

    Greetings Paul Kiss,

Your urgent matters will surely take priority over taking Themistikyra. That is one Senate mission that I would ignore. It is also a senate mission of which your failure/refusal will almost surely result in civil war. Your armies will be much more needed around Italy than "way up near the North Pole."

Remember! Take Themistikyra at your own convenience, not because the Senate told you to. They are trying to divert your attention and resources.
