A ha ha! Rainbows and unicorns! Rainbows and unicorns!
The Germanic voicemod is not done yet, and English with funny accent is not an option.
The celtic voicemod is in is it not? That takes care of roughly half the barbs.
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.
Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'
The real problem is no one can say the Germanic city names or unit names in one breath. Back then the Germans grew to at least 8 feet tall and had, obviously, larger lungs.
So it is just a question of finding someone who can at least attempt to say the name without passing out. Why do think the EB team is so small? it wasn't always that way...

Oh, but they're not that difficult; in fact, I find them pretty easy to say. Pronouncing them correctly is another thing, as I don't know how they're supposed to be pronounced, but just saying them with an accent isn't difficult at all. Even the infamous Sweboz capital rolls smoothly on my tongue.
Ah well, I guess my lungs are just out of proportion then, as last time I checked, I was actually kinda short for my age.![]()
The barbarian voicemod is not fully recorded yet, only the battle commands were finished. The unit replys are still being worked on, something to look forward for the next version.Whyy don't barbarians say what they are? That was awesome. I want to put that on a EB Load Screen.Originally Posted by Swebozbozboz

Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.

on a side note... I think anyone from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and maybe the Scandinavian countries should be able to pronounce them without suffering to much permanent damage, no?
More or less. But then again, being at least familiar with a derived language rather helps.![]()
"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

I bit my tongue when I tried pronouncing "Swêbõtráustástámnõz". I almost got to the end.Originally Posted by Mediolanicus

Well, it stands to reason that the ancient Germans pronounced their G's in a robust, manly manner so obviously only Dutch can reproduce them, and even then only those living above the RhineOriginally Posted by Mediolanicus

The funny thing about your observation, is that what barbarians are is really dependent on the eyes of the beholder.Originally Posted by Xehh II
For example, the Indians consider Baktrians, Sakae, Parthians, Kushanas and all other factions which invaded and stayed in India, Barbarians. They consider Mauryans their first great dynasty, which unified India, and then Guptas. The inter-regnum between those two is their "dark period aka 186BCE-390CE" when the above 4 foreign invaders roamed free in western and central India.
So, really, who is considered Barbarian is really in the eyes of the one getting raided. In most cases those barbarians did something right..."According to the Brihat-Katha-Manjari of the Kashmiri Pandit Kshmendra, king Vikramaditya (Chandragupta II) had "unburdened the sacred earth of the Barbarians like the Shakas (Saka Rauka), Mlecchas, Kambojas (Iranian tribe which helped both Greeks and Saka in their conquest of India), Yavanas (Greeks), Tusharas (Tokhars=Kushanas), Parasikas, Hunas (Epthalite Huns), etc. by annihilating these Mlecchas completely."
