V&V 1.02 patch bugged???

I D/L'ed the v&v patch for 1.2 the other day from FactionHeir's sig. (Thanks man!!) Fired it up using the "_io file first" shortcut that I have. But when I got to the campaign map there was alot of information missing.

Like the price of a particular building, and the name of my family members...stuff like that. It dosent make the game unplayabe are anything. And its not like I dont know what the prices are for a particular building, well a ballpark price anyway. Anyhow I went back and just fired up vanilla again to see if it was the game itself an not the patch but vanilla was just fine. It dosent kill me to not have the v&v patch but it would be nice.

Just thought I'd bring this up if it hasent been posted already. Mod's if I put this post in the wrong place feel free to do what you have to do

That's odd. Myself and the other people in the PBM have had no issues with this.
Are you sure you don't have any additional files in either data or data\text folder? Because if you do, those also get activated by io.file_first.
Have you made any changes to your 1.02 after initially installing it other than the fixes?
Are you certain your 1.02 install is full and not partial (as is often the case?)

Well as far as additional files I will have to wade through the data/text files I suppose

And I know that the only thing I added was the V&V fix after I got 1.2. I am pretty sure that it is a full install. How would I find out if its a partial install? I assume that a partial install would adversely affect vanilla 1.2, but I dont see any problems there.

Shot in the dark, but are you using a no-cd crack?

@FH - are all your files updated (knowing you, I'm sure they are, though)...

Mine as all fine. Ask the PBM crew that are also using them ;)

And yes, its probably a crack Phog is using. Other reports of crack usage also seem to result in this tooltip issue.

i installed the latest patch and when i went to play a saved game, i, too, did not have the cost of buildings or units and when i clicked for a new turn, the game hung up on spain.
i uninstalled the game and re-installed for a clean start, and again, it hung up on spain.
ant ideas?

This seems rather unrelated to the issue at hand. Please create your own topic or search for a recent solution to your same problem in the Citadel or the Apothecary.

I knew that would come up... nope, no CD crack for me. In fact, like most TW Veterans I have everything from STW to M2TW on CD. A no-CD crack kinda' seemed pointless to me personaly. I can provide you with screenshots is you want to look those over, just let me know and I will snap a few.

Hmm I remember reading the other day about someone who also had a no tooltip issue that was related to his ATI graphics card and updating drivers fixed it. Forgot which sub forum it was in though.

Hmm...that could be the ticket.

Its been a while since I updated my Vid drivers anyway. But, vanilla works just fine, how would a V&V fix make all the informational tips go away. I am going to post some screens in a little bit and then go search for drivers.
