Wasn't sure where to put this so i opted for this forum.

There is a member at TWC called ModderX who posted a mod called ATTN: New AI. And Byzantine Recolor MOD Completed. This is not a genuine mod, it was infact designed to delete all the files in the main M2TW folder. So please if you guys see him he should be banned, or if you see his mod delete it as it is nothing but malicious.

Oh im a moderator at TWC so he was dealt with quickly once the malicious nature of the mod was discovered. his file was also deleted from the download section.

If I put myself into a mind like that, I think of the following:

Is it possible for the guy to disguise his mod again -- for example rename it, etc. -- so it doesn't look malicious once more? I'd assume it's also possible he could take another identity, stuff like that, so that he wouldn't be recognized here (or at other places). I'm thinking of things like username, IP adress (though that might be tricky to investigate), etc.

I suggest that it may be best not to over hype this person's abilities or draw more attention to this and to them than is necessary. Such people do these things to achieve, in their own minds, some infamy and to grab attention. When deprived of this they usually disappear after a short time.

How about finding out his IP address and banning it? This, of course, is dangerous if it is a dynamic IP address, but if there is a danger, risks have to be taken.

The vast majority of web IP addresses are dynamic, so that's just a waste of time, unfortunately.

Unwise, unworkable, and will probably land you in a spot of trouble. Even if you do list genuine IP addresses of spammers and abusers, it may belong to a dynamic allocation pool which means that you'll also be blacklisting other innocent users. Blacklisting usernames is also a bad idea and will probably cause more harm than good as they are also not unique.
