Default A Comnenian Restoration Poll: The Question of Venice

If Venice is taken, should the Empire occupy or exterminate the city?
(Sacking is forbidden by House Rules)

This is your chance to influence the course of (fictional) history in the Comnenian Restoration AAR

Feel free to post with the reasoning behind your vote.

I didn't vote cause I think that you should do what ever is practical, and fits in game. If it has a high population and public order issues, then exterminate, If it was a tough battle with Venice really putting a hurting on your general or taking out a large part of your forces then exterminate. If not then don't.

BTW, it's a really awesome AAR so far, I'm hoping that you'll see it through all the way to a full Roman restoration.

Venice is a rich city, if you keep it intact and orderly you will rapidly earn far more reward from occupying it than exterminating it. It addition, it sits in a highly defensible position and makes a good border town.

Venice is to good a city to harm, occupy it and garrison it.
There are few things more annoying than some idiot who has never done anything trying to say definitively how something should be done.
