Ok, although I'll gladly defer if Didz comes back and resumes play, for now it looks like I'll be playing Scotland. Tristan, if you don't mind I'd like to take the current turn. I've also sent a pm.

Anyone well versed in Scotland's diplomatic stances is welcome to pm me.

    General happenings in Scotland:

England attacked Scotland and beat them handily, forcing them to a hopeless last stand at the coast of Edinburgh, when Scotland had half the army strength and no funds.

During that English push however, France had crept up the channel and taken London and Nottingham with its crusader forces that were destined for Antioch. England defeated Scotland at the battle, forcing them to retreat with almost no forces left, but the very same year France took York, which was England's last province. Denmark had sent troops as well, but those did not reach Scotland in time to help.

Amazingly, France lost nothing to desertion due to taking a province each turn and garrisoning its forces inside.

Since, Scotland has been rebuilding, but efforts to ask the French to return several Island territories have been outright refused, and one could argue that Scotland is now France's little vassal kept at arm's length.

Not at all true... Didz and I had an understanding that territories would be bought back which required him to fill his coffers first...

Now York and Nottingham have been returned to the Scottish crown... for the lowly sum of 500 per 10 turns... with troops in the bargain...

I don't know what Didz had in the books for the future however... Only thing I knew was that he wanted to negociate with the Pope in the hope of ending his excomm...
