Arrow China bans reincarnation without permission

Wasn't certain whether I ought to just put this into the "news of the weird", but decided that with all the other strange things coming out of China (lame claim to fllod world money market with $$$US dollars$$$, rewriting how last names will be expanded - put that one in the weird news thread, and all but laying claim to the North Pole) this required its own thread.
Maybe wrong, but this does demonstrate just how far reaching a totalitarianist government can go to attempt universal political control of all peoples under them (whether legally or not).

This would be laughable, if it weren't so sad that the Commies actually believe they can control a non-state religion.

Amazing, the Chinese government wants total control over everything. Personally, I think we need to rethink Taiwan - atleast we know they are sincere about capitalism.

the chinese can´t just have people reincarnating willy nilly without any government regulation....imagine what this would do to the population explosion!!!

if the Dalai Lama wants to be reincarnated we will have to act like any of his socialist brothers....go to the ministry for reincarnation issues - subsection B - Desk 12 and present formulary ZXD785473783483843 properly filled out and stamped by the department of population expansion through extraordinary means.....in triplicate..of course.

It is definitely funny... they have to apply to four different government agencies so that they can lawfully reincarnate... so I wonder if they have to be born with the signed papers in hand?

Oh god, how ridiculous is this going to end up getting? Controls on reincarnation?

Oh, and I'm going to apparently be an elephant according to the survey. Good, but not great, according to them. Personally, I really hope no one answered that last option on what you think when you see a cripple.

It's obviously just a political move against the Tibetan religious leaders.

Everybody knows the Chinese government is really just a bunch of scumbags anyway. The lower they fall, the more I'll enjoy my schadenfreude when they meet their makers, somehow.

Yeah, I know, but its like "geez, give it a rest already!" Like you, I eagerly await the demise of the current Chinese leadership.

This test is biased. It gives females a higher score than males. Does that imply females are generally "better" than males or what?

Almost 50% of people will be reincarnated as a higher form of life than you.

There's quite a bit of room for improvement in your life. If you continue to follow your current path, many obstacles will await you in your next life.

    Funny test, improvement please....

I got an elephant and it said 25% would be better.

Just makes me wonder who will reincarnate as a human? IIRC in India you can reincarnate and be born in a higher class if your previous life was good, or you can be born as a lower human if you weren't all that bad etc. I was hoping to be reborn as a woman just to experience the world as the other gender, but then again, since I'd lose my current memories, I'd probably want to be reborn as a man then to experience the world as the other gender etc. etc. elephant sounds a bit boring, I will probably try to become worse until I can be reborn as a cat like Odin. Cats are cool.

Also I thought cats are good at dealing with obstacles so that description doesn't make a lot of sense, given that they probably see obstacles as something bad.

Probably won't happen. Don't forget the red government is shipping ethnic Han Chinese into Tibet by the hundreds. Meaning that by the time a independance referendum comes there will be a sizeble pro-China voting block in Tibet.

I know that. The large-scale state-encouraged "immigration" into Tibet is no secret in any case. I don't even really support a sovereign Tibet as I fear the return of a Medieval-ish Theocracy that they used to be.

I just want a freer, better Tibet and China that is all. The scums on top right now make me cringe every time I use something with a "Made in China" label on it, and in America this includes just about everything. I'm 18 and I can't say no if my parents decide to shop at WalMart either. Apolitical immigrants that they are, they'd look at me the wrong way.

It is after all a country of my ancestry [yes I'm a peasant, and that's the limit of my genealogy as far as I'm concerned], rich in culture and values and an amazing history...under the leadership of capitalistic, authoritarian scumbags*

*Not that capitalistic denotes scumbaggery, just that they are both
