I've been considering the theory, that people who abstain are more likely to have a role. Reason being that they don't want to offend anyone with their votes and thus be less likely to be voted themselves.

On the other hand, the role people reading this might jump and start voting - more likely voting "for fun" or each other (known roles - i.e. mafia) to continue concealing their identities and seem .... innocent.

I don't think I have read a Mafia game where the mafia people were really outspoken at the start already and majorly making points to vote people.

A little eager to see a slaughter aren't you? If you have read previous games, as you claim, then I think that you may find that the town very rarely lynch a mafioso at the start. There have been a few rare cases, but, despite what many think, I feel we have a greater chance of victory if we only vote if we see something blatantly suspitious.

That was meant for the other Mafia game actually because we just managed to get 3 votes on one person....

I find it strange we're all trying our hardest to lynch a player while no one has been killed yet. This is just giving the mafia one extra kill, I mean we have 2 in 39 of getting a mafioso at this point.

Besides, as they haven't actually killed any of us yet, they'd officially be innocent, right ?

That said, I'm abstaining. it's what I do best.
