Favouritism!

It seems there are many authors in this forum who are disheartened by lack of enthusiastic criticism.
I don't, by this, mean people posting, "I love this, love it, but just keep it up!".

I am referring to actual, possibly professional analysis and even discussion perhaps of their work, as this would inspire many authors to continue their activities here- and thus bring more entertainment to the reader.
You must realise that I myself was, and many others will be, won over to a Mod through the storytelling of those who play it- and share their hours of great enjoyment.

So I give here a suggestion, an opportunity, and a vote for those who wish to- without disturbing the authors, post criticisms, vouch and support for those they wish at whatever length they choose.
I have also included a poll of the most recent After-Action-Reports.
Vote for that which you thought best!

First, I don't think this is fair to the authors, and could be discouraging. It's like comparing apples to oranges, it's just going to end with someone's feelings gettting hurt. So if your going to compare, please be constructive, because I would hate to see all of these amazing works of art to dry up, and leave us readers nothing to do but twiddle our thumbs. I love reading them all, and would make my own if I had the time, but alas I don't.

however, I did seem to enjoy the sands of Africa quite a bit, because I have a soft spot for a good carthage aar.

I voted Sands of Africa, its my personal favourite, but thats not to say the others arent good!

I personally think this is a bad idea. This is not like a screenshot of the month or anything. If anything this may discourage people from doing AARs. There are great writers on here and I dont think doing a poll will do their hard work justice. I can not ethically choose any AAR over another. Sorry

I wish I had read chirugeons reply before i voted. I dont think its important whos aar is the best, and any constructive criticism can be put in the aar's thread. Personally, i think all these aars are written with far more talent than i could ever hope to put into a writing of my own. I wish I had thought more about it before i voted.

Well then, seeing as everyone utilised this thread in the entirely opposite way to which it was meant, I must agree also.
The purpose of writing here was to be 'Out of Character', and discuss outside stories, vote for the most CURRENT Reports that you enjoy and with detail praise all that you think are worthwhile.
This was so AAR threads were not filled with one liners, and there was one thread which people could come together and discuss writing within.

However you let the title and poll drag you astray, for you must remember that it could of been updated if that was truly necessary.

Please let this rest in it's noble peace, there be no need now for posts agreeing wholeheartedly.

I too think that the 3rd legion should be on here, as well as Chirurgeon's Roman AAR (don't know how to spell it and won't embarrass myslef trying) but i voted sands as it was my 3rd favourite.

BTW all the AARs are great, and desptie me only posting in some, i watch them all.

lol probably the 96% of people that never leave comments. I havent voted and havent looked at the results so I dont have a clue whats going on...and frankly dont care. Its funny when I did my Roman AAR I calculated a 4% response rate. One of my goals was to get the responses up to 5% with Sands of Africa. You know what it turned out to be? 4%. Although I am proud of some lurkers that came out of the message board closet to leave comments. You know who you are :)
