Good German Music

My professor has suggested that the class find some good (preferably slow) German music that we can listen too in order to aid our listening comprehension. I was wondering if someone could post some good links to German music on YouTube. Please, no rapp, jazz, funk, techno, etc. :P That is not the type of music I would like to listen too. :P

That was a little low-class. :P (no offence ) Do you know of any classical German music? Maybe Christmas songs? Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring? Holy Night? Silent Night? O Come All You Faithfull? I think it would be easier to follow along to the words if it was a little slower.

Dude if you want to learn a language don't try to do it the easy way, pick a band that speaks/sings at an almost normal tempo and it will do wonders for the practical application of your language skills. Some Rammstein songs helped me quite a bit, though some songs are either a bit too fast to actually help and/or the guy isn't easy to understand.

I'd suggest Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen?, Asche zu Asche, Ich Will and other relatively slow Rammstein songs as a comprehension aid. Lindemann sings/speaks at about a normal German tempo so it will help, plus it gives you some random vocab, and if you like the music you'll listen to it more and repetition always helps!!!

Thanks all. I honestly gotta say that I do not like German music. :P (No offence to anyone who likes it) The language goes well with music, but I really do not like the artists/songs they sing/music. :P (Unless the songs posted here are not a fair representation of German music :P)

There're all kinds of music genres in German music. You've failed to tell us what kind of music you'd like to listen to (apart from Christmas songs). Once people know that it will be easier to find something that suits you.

You should've asked them why "Modern Talking" was repeatedly in the UK Top Ten, taking that as a basis to guess at the English taste of music in general.
