Out of character thread XIV

Alright, because people have mentioned a couple things, I looked the charter over.

1.) I can't find any place that says the King actually leaves his House. That was always more of a political stance that Jan took rather than some hard and fast rule. Conrad posted in the Bavarian thread for years. The relevant part of the Charter just says the King has to "renounce loyalties". Econ ruled before that the King is just supposed to rule impartially. But he doesn't actually "leave" the House the way a Kaiser does. It's not like there is a blood transfusion done or something.

2.) I also can't find any place that says that a Duke can ban people from House threads. It seems to be a power reserved specifically for the Kaiser. The Kaiser "keeps order" in the Diet. I can't find a similar role for Dukes in House threads.

But we are living in charter-burning cataclysmic times so if TC or Econ wants me to stop posting in the House thread for the duration, then I'll do so. Or if Econ rules that I can't post for the duration of Ansehelm's life, thats fine too.

Otherwise, I'll just continue to have fun and have Jan challenge the established power structure in Jan's particular fashion.

Stig needs to chill OOC. One of the points of the cataclysm was to allow people to challenge the established power structure. Some of us are doing that and we are well within our rights according to what TC and Econ have allowed.

And GH, from OOC posts and PM's to me, you've been butting in quite a bit lately. Such as telling me how to role play. Or that I am not role playing my character's traits properly. I notice you don't rag OOC on anyone else though. You need to chill as well.

This cataclysm has racheted up the tension a lot but we need to realize it is just a game. Nothing is to be taken personal.

I'll call BS here PK. Specifically a double standard.

You're opinion of how you are interacting with Stig can be construed as annoying and certainly something that would require an IC response from any other Duke if the situation was occurring in their house.

Likewise I'd point out that your comments towards GH are in reality "the pot calling the kettle black" in many respects. Everything you just described GH doing towards you could be a reflection of what is happening between you and Stig.

And before "We" jump all over this, then keep in mind everyone has an opinion...nothing more and nothing less...and those opinions are no more valid than anyone else's.

If Jan was having a go at Arnold to this extent then believe me...I'd sanction you, ban you and ask for OOC adherence or enforcement...but that just Arnold

I have not told GH how to roleplay. He has told me how to roleplay. There has been stuff in PM's which you are not privy to. But the jist is what I have just mentioned. No double standard or pot calling detected.

I am having Jan challenge Ansehelm's authority which is not only allowed, but encouraged by the relaxing of rules from the GM's. When the GM's tell me Jan is banned, I'll stop. Not when you tell me to OOC.

Since I have also not told Stig OOC how to roleplay, your linking of the two issues does not make sense. Kindly point out the double standard and we'll talk. :D

I've kept the tension going IC because it's fun and were allowed to. Stig and GH continuously bring up stuff OOC though. Not sure why your also mixing the two factors up. Look at the threads and look at when things magically appear OOC.

It isn't me that starts them.

Let's try and cool the OOC tensions; the game's supposed to be friendly and fun. I'm pushed for time right now, but will make a more substantive post on all this later today.

I had a slow night at work and had an oppurtunity to review the history since 1300. Taken all at once, it's quite epic, a grand tragedy even, and I'd like to give everyone kudos, particularly econ21 and TinCow, for contributing.

There hasn't been this level of intrigue, story telling, gnashing of teeth and danger since the Investiture Crisis.

Like I said; I can see the similarities whether you like it or not. The fact that the issues bridge the OOC and IC gap is a reality and they are certainly starting to blur. I think most people would agree.

If you don't want to see it then good luck to you that's your prerogative.

I simply find your actions and comments towards Stig, followed closely by your comments towards GH as being two sides of the same coin.

Likewise your response in the IMS is a clear attempt at continuing the discussion in the very manner in which you ask it not to be done previously.

This resulted in my posts and others being removed.

If you want to debate then I'll wade into the IMS at leisure.

No need to quit the game - I'm taking you off the playlist.

It is not acceptable on any forum of the Org to tell another member to "&#%! off". That's a personal attack and an insulting post. Do always keep in mind what the Org is about: a nice, warm and friendly place where people from all over the world come together to have a good time.

I do not appreciate the bullying of other members. It would be a shame if this PBM would be ruined by such behaviour.

Removing Stig from the playlist is not a decision I am taking lightly. I’ve consulted with other staff members. The decision is not based on any one post, but an accumulation of around eight bad posts over the course of this PBM and a general pattern of behaviour. I have made repeated remonstrations, pleas, warnings etc. but in vain.

If any of the participants disagree with the removal of Stig from the playlist, please feel free to contact me through PM. If you feel this discussion should be held in public, I refer you to the Watchtower, which is the appropriate subforum to discuss Org policy.

Duke Ansehelm will be a spare avatar. I suggest TinCow arranges for him to meet a tragic end. Peter can be the Steward until Ansehelm dies, after which Peter can inherit as Duke.
