Thread: Immortal ruler
negr4730 05:24 10-09-2007
Just Wondering...is there a way to make a family member (faction leader, member, general, etc.) immortal, never die of old age? Is there a modding tool or revision made to the data files that can achieve this?

Moved to modding questions.

You could edit descr_campaign_db.xml by increasing old_age, max_age and max_age_before_death to something like 1000 which would probably result in a lot of your characters reaching an age worthy of Methuselah

Thanks got it. What where the original values for "old age", "max age", and "max age before death". I forget to copy them before I made the changes. Old age was 60, the others...

<max_age uint="90"/>
<max_age_for_marriage_for_male uint="75"/>
<max_age_for_marriage_for_female uint="40"/>
<max_age_before_death uint="105"/>

I don't suppose this can be done on a faction by faction basis, can it?

Nope, it cannot

Is it possible, then, to script deaths?

In other words, if I set the max age to, say, 200 years, could I somehow then introduce a script that would kill off most factions family members by age 100?

I don't think so, unless you know the name of the character you want to have killed off (via assassin spawn)
