Before you started the battle what wre the odds of victory. As the odds were 1:1 or 2:1 than it's very hard to get a heroic victory. And you retreat your troops so that counts also I think. A heroic victory is most of the time against great odds and you crush the enmey and don't lose that much soldiers.
