    Default Here Comes the Bride!!!

    Dear All:

Good afternoon from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well. As for me, I could complain...yadda, yadda, yadda.

This is for anyone playing as Ireland in the Britannia Campaign: I have just been given a mission by the Council to marry Martha O'Neill and Fineen McCarthy. It seems he's quite smitten with her and is very willing to fork over mucho bucks for a dowry.

This is great, only one small problem stands in the way: Yours truly here doesn't know HOW to marry people. I brought her, Martha, down from Lifford to Cork, but that doesn't seem to work. Now, I've put Fineen on the ship to head back to Lifford. I need

If any of you kind souls have any ideas, opinions and/or vague notions, I'll appreciate any and help you can give me.

Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!

    Sincerely yours always,

    Indy.

I think you need a diplomat to arrange the marriage, just send one to the lady in question.

Assumng that the general isn't the faction heir, you should do what factioheir said, but if he is, then initiate diplomacy with your diplomat and try to arrange the marriage through it

Move the princess to the guy who wants to marry her.
With the princess select the guy, this will bring up a pop up with his details.
Lower left hand side of the screen you have an option, looks like shaking hands, (for diplomacy), or a womans face, that's to attempt marriage, you should have 100% so select that & they'll get hitched.

That applies to your own un-married generals only. It's a give/take situation when marrying off and "Stealing" another factions generals, although i will admit, i've stolen some generals with a 10% success rate, with my -3 charm princesses before (yes, thats not a typo, lots of bad traits).

Do negative abilities (charm, diplomacy, command, merchant etc) have an effect or is it floored at 0? For example does your -2 Merchant act as -2 or 0 skill. Same question goes for ceiling, does your 12 command general fight at 10 or 12?

it appears to me that it does go into negative numbers, since in my current game, i have a merchant with -1 and a merchant with 0, and the -1 makes 0 florins a turn on a resource near my starting city, while the 0 one makes about 13. Judging by this, i think its safe to assume it does go into negatives, but i believe there is still a base minimum when performing actions though (5% regardless of how low your skill is. Similar to how its 95% regardless of how high your skill is)
