Anyone here a fan and player of naval games?
Personally, I own and play Silent Hunter 3 & 4, Battlestations Midway, and Pacific Storm (which I actually enjoy).

I liked Battlestations Midway, but there was nobody playing it on Live, so I traded it in once I completed the campaign.
Battlestations Midway is a great game, just to fly around, bombard, or torpedo. However, the replayability, not so much. The multiplayer was awkward and more akin to the Iliad in fighting styles.
I've looked at Pacific Storm, but I've moved on from great naval battles.
I played (and still have) Aces of the Deep!

Re: Pursuit of happiness
Have you just been dumped?
I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.
I really think there should be a updated naval combat game. Something like the Battlefield series.

Well thats pretty much what Battlestations:Midway is :)
Its pretty arcadey & is about the ships + planes, no infantry/tanks.
They are now making a follow up Battlestations:Pacific, following on from Midway & I believe including a 'what-if' Japanese campaign.
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
I fondly remember playing Harpoon as a teenager. It seems versions of the game are still out there.

As soon I can set aside some time (and more importantly, the extra cash -- it's an expensive game), I intend to pick up War in the Pacific. I've long wanted to see how how I would fair against the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, and this game looks to be one of -- if not *the* best -- simulation of that.
