Anyway, Stig, you might have prevented all this drama by saying "I don't want/I cannot give my password" in a friendlier way. I understand you have a dispute with a particular/some particular Org member(s). Fine, it happens to the best of us and sometimes conflicts escalate to a degree where they can't find a solution. It's human.

But I'm sure you understand that you not being able to give your password, ruins an enjoyable game and it harms all other players.

You could have put it more friendly and nicer, you know. And you could have said it spontaneously in the public thread instead of waiting for Tosa to pm you.

Something in the lines of

Hi guys, I can no longer participate in this game, for reasons well known by some of you. I do know you guys need my password to continue this enjoyable game, but the thing is, I use this password for different other applications and I don't want to risk other people using it to cause harm to me. Unfortunately and as you probably already knew, I cannot change the game password. I know this kinda means "game over" for all of you and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused. Thanks for your understanding.

Au contraire. It shows Tosa's concern about his fellow Org members. The way I see it, Tosa noticed a number of Org members having trouble to continue an enjoyable game and, since they couldn't find a solution amongst themselves, he stepped forward and tried to help.

He could have easily said: "Hey guys, this has nothing to do with my function as an Administrator. It's your problem, ,not mine.", but instead he tried to help them out. And isn't that what the Org is about? Trying to help and to solve problems of other people?

Yes, Andres is right - I asked TosaInu to contact Stig to try to pass on his password as I thought the Admin had the best chance of being seen as trustworthy by an Orgah.

I am sorry it did not work out, but I am grateful to TosaInu for spending time trying to find a solution.

Attempts to save the existing game seem to have failed, but thanks to TosaInu and CA Australia, we have found out how to avoid the problem in future using admin rights - as Privateerkev's Throne Room sticky now explains.

While you can take that view, you can also look at it like this: Tosa is repeating the same thing in thread over and over, he moved it to the watchtower (i dont really care about that). He did the same thing with Elmo.

It's a forum, not political and certainly not anything worth getting stressed about. There is no point in taking anything personally when using this medium. And this type of scenario is generally only a problem if you make it one. At the end of the day the admin on any forum can close it down, delete all the posts and kick us all into oblvion if they so wish. If they did that to me today for whatever reason then so be it.

From my perspective, that of the casual observer. It seems clear that the Stig is not going to be giving out the password (as is his right?), and so perhaps the issue should now be laid to rest?

Don't you think that on occasions it can be better to remain objective and not take sides? Especially on a forum where no one really knows anyone else anyway and thus cannot really make any sound judgment on such an issue.

I'm as bewildered by this as the next man, but perhaps it's simply a "communications problem". If TosaInu is intentionally trying to make the Stig "look bad" as you put it, do you think he's doing a good job of it so far? I would say not. If he wanted to put him in the frame or ridicule him publically I'm sure that, as the aministrator here, he could find better ways of doing so than bandying words in a thread such as this.

As to this whole theory about the TosaInu account being a shared account used by "the real rulers of the .org" then I say that if people want to invent conspiracy theories then that's up to them, but from my perspective it's a pretty far fetched story and even if it were true I wouldn't actually care anyway.
