A.I. factions fighting the Pope...

Seriously, ive seen milan make France a vassal (not too difficult), and England a vassal, even though at no point there borders meet!

It probably went like this:
"AHAAAAA!!!! Now I have ONE of your ports blockaded! Now SURRENDER OR CONTINUE TO LOSE 100 florins per turn!!!"
And then the other guys goes "OOOOHHHHH NOOOOO You have one of my ports blockaded, OK OK, I will become your vassal, just PLEASE PLEASE... END THE BLOCKADE of my single port."

It probably went like this:

The French have become the vassals of both Milan and HRE in my current game. Are vassals of AI able to attack other factions?
