Isn't Hapsburg in the stack near Vienna? If so, I think he has been in a battle or two during your absence. Privateerkev has gone on reserve duty, Roadkill does not fight his own battles and Cecil wants to hunker down in Prague, so there may be an opening for an army commander in Austria. I suggest PMing AussieGiant in character.

I can't be in trouble.
The French stack is 16 lancers and nothing else. Cavalry cannot assault settlements without infantry in the stack.
Unless the AI combines infantry into that stack (highly unlikely) they cannot attack and will have to wait the full 10 or so turns.
Even if they get 1 infantry regiment in, I can sally during their assault and take out the single equipment carriers (they usually send them forward without much support) thus breaking the siege completely.

New Zealand and Australia were awesome and Germany appears to be much cooler now. But I'm starting to get used to it. Thanks to Overknights history I got a rough impression of what you all have been up to, but there's still a lot to read for me. I'm especially interested in the last moments of Siegfried and from what it looks like econ21 and TinCow have made some spectacular moves there. I really look forward to read all the details!

Although I'm back, I'll remain on the side line for now. I'm busy looking for a new flat and won't have internet or even a proper computer until then.
So, sorry for the interruption, you may now continue with your regular squabbling and flaming.
