VanillaMod Bug thread

here's an image of the folders and the vanillamod.cfg file. i also tried copying the vanillamod.cfg that comes with the archive, that's the one in the vanillamod folder in the screenshot, to the main M2TW folder but it didn't change anything.

Which bat file do you run for your game? The one in the VM or in your general folder?

the one in the original M2TW folder as it is stated in the readme.

although it's offtopic but i have another thing about two mods or rather fixes of yours. since we already have a discussion i think it's ok to post it here, but if you want i can post it in one of the respective threads. i applied your 2hander fix and the battle effects remover (both in your sig). both were applied after it was clear that vanillamod was buged on my installation so no connection here.
the thing is when i move a general out of a city it sets its construction to automatic. this is although i started the game with control of all cities. the game was started before i applied the fixes. sometimes this also sets other cities with no general to auto. i can fix this temporaly by activating and deactivating auto construction in some cities (doesn't work in all or not everytime) with a general. but of course after i move another general out it's back. it also saves if i unchecked building and/or unit production and the just displays the normal autofunction as on. meaning it shows the policies instead of the tax rates. and i can't unchek it without a general.
i tried and started the game without the reduced effects, meanig running M2TW exe without the --io.file_first parameter, but the bug persists. i stupidly didn't save the original files i overwrote with animations fix so i can't check that without another hour of reinstallation. but maybe you know something about this. thanks in advance.

No idea, never had such problems and definitely not VM related.
