The Detective investigates, the action will happen but he will be watching it
The Sheriff arrests, investigates what that person did and then he will be set free (but announced in the thread)
The tavern owner will have no night choice, he has to work in the tavern every night. He can't do nothing, but if a person kills someone who just happen to enter the tavern, he will get the names.

So, why would any townie choose NOT to go to the tavern every night? Seems like a system that would make it impossible for a killer to remain hidden.
