The Fall from Heaven 2 mod has a lot of promise, but it still feels a bit too much like Civ IV and is generally rough around the edges with uneven writing, art and balancing. The spell system is severely restricted by the engine.
Still, the potential is there. Some game company exec should give the guy a couple hundred thousand dollars for polishing.![]()
Well been playing colinization a few days now and so far it seems good.
It's much mar complicated than civ 4 but that makes it more challenging.
Slight criticism is when you delcare independance and the king sends his troops.
He normally has about 120 + whilst i can only muster up 80 at the max.
I was hoping it would kind of be I have more but the kings troops are more elite.
There was the forgien invertention army that would come to your resuce when you got enough bells. That is not in this version. That's pretty much how the original Sid Meier's Colonization was. The loyalists have a huge number of ships and troops at their disposal, making independence a choice only for the truly fortified.
They didn't give much, only something like 10-15% of the king's forces in size.
Basically you had 10+ dragoons in every colony as offensive defense, with a few men blocking everything except that huge mountain (as you got the terrain bonuses). Then you had more than 300 horses for reinforcements (fortified ships with full horse cargo to increase it beyond 300).
That limit on max number of units outside cities made it impossible to rebel with a too large empire.![]()
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?
