I has little to do with democracy I'm afraid. I keep hearing story after story about how members of the opposition party are being jailed, disappeared, or outright murdered. It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
